Hospice & palliative care

Comfort-focused dental care in hospice

In hospice, the goal is comfort. A painful tooth or a denture that rubs shouldn't take that away.

Comfort comes first

Mouth pain can make eating, talking and resting harder at a time when every comfort matters. Dr. Nath focuses on what will make the patient feel better now — not on long treatment plans.

He comes to the home or facility and treats the patient in bed, with a portable X-ray, suction and a full dental setup.

What we can help with

  • Relief of tooth pain and infection, including gentle extractions
  • Smoothing broken teeth or fillings that cut the tongue or cheek
  • Adjusting or relining dentures so they fit and stop rubbing
  • Treating sore spots and dry, uncomfortable mouths
  • Showing family and aides simple, gentle mouth care

Working with the hospice team

We coordinate with the patient's hospice nurses and physicians, and with the family or healthcare proxy. We keep visits short and calm, explain the options in plain English, and only do what the patient and family want.

Fees

The home visit fee is $350 on Long Island and $500 in New York City and Westchester. It covers travel, setup, the exam and X-rays, and you get a written price before any treatment starts.

We do not participate with any insurance plans. You pay us directly, and we prepare and submit the claim so any reimbursement is paid directly to you.

Call us and we can talk through what's going on before you book.
